Before you go

  • What to bring: Water: A refillable bottle to stay hydrated during the game., Small Towel: Useful for drying off after a light shower or if you work up a sweat., Sun Protection: Sunscreen if the session is held in an open, sunny field., Personal Medication: Any necessary items like an inhaler or EpiPen, as the session involves light physical activity., A Change of Socks: A spare pair is always a good idea in case the grass is damp or muddy.
  • What to wear: Clothing: Breathable activewear such as a T-shirt, tracksuit bottoms, or leggings—avoid jeans as they are heavy and restrictive., Layers: A lightweight fleece or hoodie is recommended, plus a waterproof jacket in case of rain., Footwear: Sturdy trainers with good grip for grass; sports shoes with a deeper tread are even better if the ground is soft., Accessories: A hat and gloves for cold mornings, and a cap for sun protection.
Important to know: While the sessions are scheduled for most Sundays, they are occasionally cancelled due to weather or volunteer availability. It is highly recommended that you contact the organiser, Neil, beforehand to confirm the session is taking place.
Important to know: Even though it is "walking" rugby, it still involves twisting, reaching, and frequent movement. If you are recovering from a specific injury or have a heart condition, ensure you’ve had a quick "okay" from your GP. The organizers are very supportive of different ability levels, but knowing your own limits beforehand is vital.
